This Is Halloween

This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween.. it rings in my head on the 31st every year... alternating with come little children I'll show you the way....

It's Halloween! Our kids were lucky enough to Trick or Treat last night (because HS football makes the rules here apparently). They did awesome. They procured copious amounts of candy and ran around the neighborhood with the best of them. I'll show you some pics later.

The cool thing about trick or treating being a day early is that this slacker Mom had time to put together a last minute tradition... our family Halloween party. It feels kinda weird to be carving pumpkins tonight when the event we'd carve them for has sorta already happened... but hey, technically it's Halloween so who cares?

We're gonna eat mummy dogs, doritos, caramel apple jones soda, and woof down my world famous caramel apple dip (you should be jealous, it's SO good) all while watching Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas. Then we'll put the kids to bed and I'll claw into Hottie's arm while we watch the latest American Horror Story episode and scary movies (through my fingers or the nearest blanket) until we pass out. Yay, Halloween!

Here's two more layouts...

Hope you all have a scary good Halloween! ;)

Old Hallows Eve

Today's layout features a vintage photo. OMG. How cute are my sister and I???? (soooo cute.. I'll answer for you.) I'm the bunny. She's Wonder Woman (very fitting). I love this photo so much which is why it took me forever to scrap it. Now I can smile every time I see the layout instead of leaving it stuck in a box in a stack of "special" photographs!

Halloween Fun

Guys, it's almost Halloween and I have more layouts than there are days left to countdown (poor planning). So I'm doubling up today. Here's one I did right after the holiday last year...

I got so much mileage out of hot dog sayings....

This one I made the other day when I was in the middle of my 7-layout Halloweenie flury... (guys, having a scrap-space has done incredible things for my creative drive!)...

Loving mixing old and new lines and just using up my holiday stash while having fun with it. I'll be back tomorrow to share some more!

Paper Camellia December Days: Part Two

With Halloween on the horizon I thought it would be fun to share a few of the full layouts I made with the Paper Camellia December Days Kit. (Cuz you just have to start planning for Christmas before fall is even over, right??) Let me know what you think. :)

Next week I'll be switching gears to Halloween since I have like a million layouts with that theme to share with you. (Maybe a small exaggeration.. still, I have a lot to share.)

Me Series: Sept and Oct

Somehow in the chaos and stress and excitement that was September I managed to squeeze in a Me Series layout. The idea of leaving it out just didn't sit right with me. (If you want to read about this series or why I'm doing it you can read about it here) I waited for September and our move for the longest time and I wanted to capture my feelings about that just like all of the other months of the year.

Here is September (made on the last day of the month)...

Last week I went ahead & completed my October page as well. October has been a really up and down month for me. I'm super happy and excited to be in our new home and there are a lot of other things to be happy about in life right now... but I'm just still not myself. I'm getting there.. but it's a long, slow process.. and sometimes that's hard to realize. I just need my heart to catch up with my brain, or my brain with my heart.. whatever it is... The good news is I'm working on it, so hopefully I will start to feel a more consistent normalcy soon. Until then I am counting up all of my blessings and small victories and taking things day by day.

Oh, and I went all pink (technically "magenta" and "wild orchid") so that makes me smile...

(BTW: It's Ah-may-ZING what a hair stylist, plus great lighting, plus perfect filters can accomplish. I swear I do not look like this in person, people! But I can pretend.. and make it my fb profile.) ;)

Here's October...

Looking at this page now I see there is a LOT going on. Too much. Oh well. I found this watercolor paper done by Evareaux and that was the base for it all so I still kinda like how it turned out.

So that's me. :) If you want to see my other pages from this series click your little hearts out:

Paper Camellia December Days: Part One

Hey ya'll, is anyone planning on doing a December album this year? If so check out the special December Days add-on kit that is now available at Paper Camellia. It's jam packed with all kinds of holiday goodness.

Here's some sneaks of layouts I made using the kit...

So far I've made 3 traditional pages, and 6 pocket pages, & I have tons of supplies left over to keep going. :) I also want to mention that the flair and veneer in this kit are exclusive to Paper Camellia. Cool, right?

I'll be back soon to share the full projects.

Happy Halloweenie

If you've been following for awhile you might remember that last year we were a bunch of hot dogs for Halloween. I made a couple of layouts with my favorite photos from our time hot dogging around. :) Here's my favorite...

I don't think I'll ever forget last Halloween. All the kids in those matching costumes.. the reactions every time a door opened for treats.. giggles from the other kids on the street. It was so much fun… and so us.

It seems like our new neighborhood will be really cool for this holiday as well. Everyone is beginning to decorate their yards to the max (think full blown lighting, blow ups, and skeletons galore.) Sounds like it's a real treat… haha, see what I did there?

Another Birthday Layout

Popping in today to share another bday layout I made about the little dude. Sometimes when there are a plethora of adorable photos sitting on your desk, and you have freedom to pick any supplies you want you just have to keep going and going. I may or may not have 5 Halloween layouts in progress at one time on my desk right now. And when I'm done with those I will dig into the Paper Camellia December Days kit (it's so good, ya'll.. I can't wait to share!)

Anyway, back to the bday stuff..

Still having fun using Project Life cards for traditional layouts. I just love how they look with sewing on the edges….

Ok! It's nap time over here and I have 5 layouts to finish. I'll be back to share soon! :)

Two

In a fashion true to form I made two layouts with the same title. again… at least this time one was spelled out and one was numerical. ;) Check it...

Some fun old school Sassafras on the on this one. Lotsa layers, including some actual crate paper, and a cute little bow tie...

Here's the other one…

Of course the very next day after I wrote that journaling my sweet little baby boy had a series of epic meltdowns. This should give you a clue of what I'm dealing with.

In his defense I think he must not being feeling very well, it's been a couple of days of this… but come on! Can't a Mama get her Target shopping on? I mean, I brought you a snack and let you out of the cart, what else could you possibly want?!

Woohoo, Look Who's Two

In all the hullabaloo of moving and unpacking, etc, this little dude had a birthday...

Two years old. I know it's cheesy, but I can hardly believe it. Sometimes when I look at his sweet little face I can almost envision what he will be as a grown man. Dezmond has always had such a grown up disposition and sometimes it's a trip when I stop and remember how little he really is.

See what I mean? He looks like a grumpy old man to me in this one… "hey kid, get off my lawn!"

In typical boy fashion Dez is really into cars and trains right now. So Hottie and I decided to pick up a dream gift for him. He's been glued to this table for a week now. So cool to be two, huh? Although he does get a wee bit frustrated when his arm gets stuck and knocks the track down.. and he wishes he had more hands so he could hold allll of the cars at the same time. ;) (He's also really into My Little Ponies.. but I won't tell his wife that one day or anything.)

It was a pretty low key day because of all we had going on.. the most memorable part was the cake. He was super excited about it at first and then we began to sing to him and he freaked out & tried to get out of there.

So, of course, I kept snapping photos. Blinding him with the flash, thus making it worse. You have to document the memories, people! (It's his birthday, he can cry if he wants to.)

It didn't take Dezi long to come around and finally blow out the candles about a full minute later. ;)

Oh two, I forgot what a ride you are. Things are about to get interesting with this one…

I've started a couple of birthday layouts for the little big guy and I look forward to sharing them with you soon. (The first pages made in my new scrap space! Holla!)
