More Project Life Pages Than You Care To See: Part One

Hi! Welcome to part one of more pages than you care to see! (Also, is it "then" or "than"? --English knowledge fail. Oh well.) If you make it to the end of this post you are amazing.  If you come back for part two you're my hero! I figure I made the pages, I took the photos (which let me tell you is a big task), and I edited them, so I might as well share them on my silly scrapbook blog.

Also, I love looking at what people do with their pages, so maybe you do too? Here goes nothing...

Project Life Sneaky Peekys

Last week I carved out some time to catch up on the 10 weeks of Project Life that I was "behind" on. It was so much fun. I love doing week after week in one or two sittings. I haven't had the time (or good light) to photograph full spreads but I have a couple of sneaks to share today. I'll show you the rest soon. :).. although probably not all ten weeks worth, don't wan to bore you!

I think the coolest thing about catching up with my pages was when I reached the point of our move. A huge smile crossed my face when I realized from here on out all of these pages, our memories, special moments, every day will be in this house. No more sad, crappy rental. No more limbo. No more rodents (please, baby Jesus, no more anything like that.) A sense of calm relief washed over me.  Happiness and gratitude as I flipped through the recent pages.. have I said how much I love this project?

Halloween Winning

I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos from our first holiday in our new home. Halloween was a good one this year. Trick or treating in our neighborhood made me feel like we were in a movie... all of the houses decked out, everyone sitting in their driveways handing out candy and socializing... kids galore. It was a mild day, weather wise, and perfect for this experience. Winning.

Evareaux didn't have to think too hard about her costume this year. She's allll about rainbows and My Little Ponies, which find a perfect marriage in her favorite thing on the planet (besides her little bro), Rainbow Dash. (The only other thing she considered was "shark boy"--but luckily that was short lived. I was not up for making an outfit.)

At two Dezmond is not capable of expressing what he would like to dress up as... but he is 100% able to convey that he does not want to dress up...

Luckily. I'm a genius I've been around the parenting block a time or two and it took just a few moments for me to realize it was time for a good old fashioned bribery. Suckers for the win...

So, all the sudden we had a little chicken! (Double win because all three kids have actually worn that costume now. Triple win because it's insulated and kept him super warm and happy all night.) Winner, winner, chicken dinner! <<< see what I did there?

Nakiah. Oh, sweet, hilarious, Nakiah. He wanted to be a banana.. cuz he's "too old for those silly scary costumes, Mom. I want to be funny." Sold. Winning again...

I could not believe how awesome Dez did on his first ever trick-or-treating experience. Something I probably haven't talked about on the blog is that Dez is a super shy kid. He has stranger-danger naturally engrained in his very fiber.. He'll be found cowering into my legs and clawing to be lifted up  in total panic if ever a random person in a store dares to address him... and lord help me the one time someone tried to high five him! Oh, the agony. (for us both)

It sounds like I'm exaggerating... I'm not. Until this night the only words he had ever uttered to a stranger were, "bye-bye"... which I like to think is his polite way of saying, "get away from me or I will cut you."

Anyway.

Apparently this apprehension gets thrown out the window when candy's involved. The second that first bar plunked into his bucket it was on... his eyes opened wide and he began to lead the charge from house to house, running up the driveway first. Screaming, "I'm eating! Thank You!" at the strangers & moving on effortlessly.

Kids are so weird.. but actually I'm thrilled it played out that way. The kids were super cute to watch, and they stayed out for an hour! (which means I'm going to get really fat eating all of their candy)

... I mean, COME ON!! totally winning.

This Is Halloween

This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween.. it rings in my head on the 31st every year... alternating with come little children I'll show you the way....

It's Halloween! Our kids were lucky enough to Trick or Treat last night (because HS football makes the rules here apparently). They did awesome. They procured copious amounts of candy and ran around the neighborhood with the best of them. I'll show you some pics later.

The cool thing about trick or treating being a day early is that this slacker Mom had time to put together a last minute tradition... our family Halloween party. It feels kinda weird to be carving pumpkins tonight when the event we'd carve them for has sorta already happened... but hey, technically it's Halloween so who cares?

We're gonna eat mummy dogs, doritos, caramel apple jones soda, and woof down my world famous caramel apple dip (you should be jealous, it's SO good) all while watching Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas. Then we'll put the kids to bed and I'll claw into Hottie's arm while we watch the latest American Horror Story episode and scary movies (through my fingers or the nearest blanket) until we pass out. Yay, Halloween!

Here's two more layouts...

Hope you all have a scary good Halloween! ;)

Old Hallows Eve

Today's layout features a vintage photo. OMG. How cute are my sister and I???? (soooo cute.. I'll answer for you.) I'm the bunny. She's Wonder Woman (very fitting). I love this photo so much which is why it took me forever to scrap it. Now I can smile every time I see the layout instead of leaving it stuck in a box in a stack of "special" photographs!

Halloween Fun

Guys, it's almost Halloween and I have more layouts than there are days left to countdown (poor planning). So I'm doubling up today. Here's one I did right after the holiday last year...

I got so much mileage out of hot dog sayings....

This one I made the other day when I was in the middle of my 7-layout Halloweenie flury... (guys, having a scrap-space has done incredible things for my creative drive!)...

Loving mixing old and new lines and just using up my holiday stash while having fun with it. I'll be back tomorrow to share some more!
