Fancy Free Guest Designer!!!

Well hello there! Exciting post today! I am the guest designer over on the Pink Paislee blog for Fancy Free week. You know, Fancy Free, that stellar line by Paige Evans that I can't stop raving about? Yep, that's the one! Pink Paislee sent me a box of goodies (pinch me!) and I spent almost an entire month using up every. last. bit. It's that good, ya'll! Check out some of the projects I made..

No your eyes do not deceive you! I made a book!

Head over the the Pink Paislee blog for a look at the other things I made. Or if you're visiting from there, hello! Welcome! Please stay awhile! Take some time to poke around a bit and let me know what you think.

January Project Life

Hey guys! I made some Project Life pages. Wanna check them out? Here ya go!

I included my weekly list since I had some extra space. I think it will be fun to look back on what kind of stuff I was tackling (or failing to tackle) after some time passes.

So there ya go. January is finished. I actually have part of March already done as well.. but I can't show you that yet because I used Aprils' Citrus Twist Kit to make them and we aren't quite ready to share that with the world. ;) Come back tomorrow so I can show you my Guest Designer for Pink Paislee stuff! I am realllllllly excited about these projects!

EASTER!

Hoppy Easter everyone. haha, see what I did there? I wanna share some pages I made cuz it seems like everyone and their Mama shares pages about holiday before the holidays actually happen. (Kinda thinking it makes a bit more sense to be like, hey, Easter was last week, lets show you what projects I made with those photos we all took. But, whatevs.) So since these pages are only relevant now (industry wise, hehe.) here ya go! My take on two not so conventional Easter themed layouts..

The photos of this one are not so great. But the layout is fun. So, theres that...

and here is a sneaky peek of a page I made for a special top secret guest spot I've been working on for a month straight. Can you guess who it's for? I get to share the whole thing next week. Yay! Hope you all have a good Easter.

Spring Thing

Other than the weather it's feeling pretty Springy around here. Easter is knocking on our door (Ev is on count down and I'm hoping she doesn't expect it to be like Christmas or something.) I'm jone-sing to clean clean clean. (although, let's be real, I probably won't) and thanks to the time change the days feel longer and just a little bit brighter. Bring it on, Spring. I am ready for you.

Here is a page I made for a submission asking for Spring pages. It didn't get chosen, but it's still one of my favorites. (that fussy cutting was a lot of work, ya'll)

Love, love, love, the cut and layered flowers. I want to cover a whole page in these.
Pulling up the edges here and there provides a nice dimension. Bonus!

I'll be back soon to share a couple of Easter pages with you. (some more submissions that didn't hit.) I've been super lazy about blogging lately.. but I swear I'll be back... after the fluffy layouts I still have some real stuff to talk about, and I promise.. it's all going to happen.

What a Character

Popping in quick today to post something else from our recent art auction. There was a guy there doing sketches and caricatures. He. was. Amazeballs. For reals. The proof is in the charcoal...

He pretty much nailed me in a matter of 2 minutes... as you can see in my photo. (except this is a photo carefully maneuvered so as not to feature my double chin. #selfietricks) and his sketch kinda makes me look like I need to poo.. but, maybe that was just my face. hehe.

He did this one of Hottie in literally 45 seconds. Told you! Amazeballs. (Those eyebrows make me giggle.)

This is one of those things I have to do if I see it offered.. kinda like photo booths. Just hop in and participate. Even if the dude captures your double chin or crooked nose it's all good. It's just another fun way to document you and remember the event. Yay artists!

Art Auction For the Win

Every year my roller derby league holds an art auction.  (I wrote about last year here.We collect art donations and allow guests to bid silent auction style. There are drinks, a dj and a theme too. This year was flashback to the 80's... you should have seen the awesome outfits!! It's a super fun event, and I am so proud to be able to make things to donate and sell for the good of the league. (We need travel money!)

So here are things I made to make that money, honey!
String art. My favorite piece to date...

The colors make me happy.

Then I made these four watercolor paintings. I've dabbled in watercolor before.. but really only in terms of using it here and there for scrapbook layouts. Weird, huh? I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use this medium. I see a ton more watercolor endeavors in my future. These were just too fun to make..

Here's a bit of a better photo. Ignore the ink splatter (Thanks, kids, for ruining everything the piece.)

And here's me, acting a fool, as usual. I had a little Flashdance moment. Most people didn't recognize me with the wig. (YES it's a wig. Sheesh, people.)

I found this jacket for $1.99 and made Hottie do the Miami Vice thing.. nailing it.

I have some more thoughts to share about the evening and some reactions I had after seeing the photos from our photographer. Real talk that I want to make sure I take time to write about.. because this topic warrants it. So that is coming soon.

things that make you go meh.

Been feeling kinda like this lately... just, meh

Well, not that exactly, I guess. That's actually a photo from before my last bout (thus the makeup).. but it is a pretty accurate visual for how my brain has been the past 2 weeks.

Not all there.

I haven't been sleeping well and failed to refill a key prescription and have been indulging in more drinks and junk food than normal and had a couple of really frank talks in therapy. It's caught up. I'm like, bleh. and ugh. and ick. and zzzz. all at the same time. Totally not myself.

Hoping to turn it all around soon. Just wanted to let you in on what's up.

In other news... I made this page for Citrus Twist Kits using the March Pocket life and Embellishment kits. I had to share with you here. (and on the Citrus Twist Blog too.)

It was one of those cool out of the box layouts that just sorta happened. I love that, except now I'm realizing I haven't made anything since (even after totally re-arranging and organizing my office... which is weird, because that always helps).. so maybe pages like this actually zap all of the creative out of me and I don't even know it? Oh well, kinda worth it. Hopefully once my brain fixes itself the creativity will restart as well.

Citrus Twist Kits: March

It's time to take a look at the Citrus Twist Kit Club March kit goodness. Here are the two I worked with this month. Pocket Life and Embellishment..

Here is the first pocket page spread using the kits..

and here is a look at the Scrapbook Main Kit, which I need to get my hands on immediately..

I look forward to sharing the other things I made with you soon. Yay!
